History
The history of Prime Cut Butchers is predictably one of modest beginnings, when Moses Moskowits began processing Meats and selling it from a small shop in Stamford Hill, London. Moses had always had it in him to become a butcher. In his youth, he had been brought up as ‘the son of a butcher’. Learning the tricks of the trade from a young age, it didn’t take much courage for him to decide to go ahead, when in 1995, he was presented with a business proposition involving butchery. Moses saw the means to starting up his own business. He opened a small retail butcher shop in Stamford Hill, London – which goes by the name of Royal Meats. His ambition was to compliment his retail business with a wholesale outlet. Meanwhile he had opened a second branch in Stamford Hill called Prime Cut.
In 2007, Moses took up the challenge when his first opportunity came on the table and set-up a small miniscule factory from the back of his second shop. Over there, he produced all types of salamis, viennas, cold cuts, salt beef etc. He started on a small scale with very basic equipment, and very soon it was becoming much too busy for the small shop. The business grew rapidly, so much so, that Moses had to relocate his business elsewhere, and fast, so as to be able to further expand his growing enterprise.
In 2010, Moses purchased an industrial warehouse, in Tottenham/Edmonton, London. Throughout the year, Moses kitted out the warehouse, transforming it to a food manufacturing plant of the highest standard. He purchased state-of-the-art equipment, with various different kinds of machinery needed, to start producing on an industrial scale.
The business snowballed from there. Prime cut became a household brand. It was Prime Cut products that could be found on every table. Whether be it on Shabbos or during the week – Hot dogs for supper – or Salt beef and Chopped Liver for a Shabbos day meal – Prime Cut was the brand that stood for Quality and Kashrus.
Today, Prime Cut has totally been transformed. From being a small back-of-the-shop style business with amateurish packaging, and old school methods – it has become a professional food enterprise, that can be found across Europe in all Kosher stores and some large chain supermarkets.
Moses has not stopped, and has continued in his father’s footsteps in achieving the impossible, and always trying to bring the latest and best in Quality and Kashrus to the Market. He has since invested huge resources and funds into re-developing his entire plant. From improved recipes and product consistency, to slicing accuracy and packaging innovation – there is nothing that Moses misses. As well - apart from the Regular range, which comprises of more than 25 products, Prime Cut have recently started to manufacture Smoked products – which although relatively new to the Kosher market in Europe – it has seen enormous success in Israel, and America. Ranging from Smoked Hot Dogs, to Smoked Beef Pastrami, and Smoked Chicken Pastrami.
The little shop in Stamford Hill, where it all started is still selling fresh meat, meat products like beef mince and goulash.
The Prime Cut range has positioned the company in the top few Kosher meat producers in Europe, and as far as Moses and Prime Cut are concerned, they won’t stop until they hit No.1.
MISSION STATEMENT
An unswerving commitment to provide European consumers with the best food products, using only the highest quality ingredients, the latest technology and creative innovation.
